Engineering Expert Witness Testimony and Opinions

Ryan has worked for many product liability lawyers as a testifying expert witness. Safety Engineering Resources strives to provide economic alternate designs that can prevent product injury accidents. We apply fundamental engineering design principles to determine if a product was adequately safeguarded. Product safety is maximized only when product hazards are eliminated when possible, and guarded when a product contains an inherent hazard. Other less effective methods such as warnings, training, and personal protective equipment should only be used as a last resort or as backup methods of safeguarding.

3. Our engineering technicians, who work at rates lower than experts, take the product booklet and adapt it to the specific product model. The technicians customize the generic booklet under the supervision of the expert.
4. SER experts are contract experts, which distances them from SER. This gives SER a better choice of experts because we select the best. They are well-trained engineers with appropriate experience. SER continually trains our experts in communicating with juries.
5. During SER's investigation a courtroom-ready Microsoft PowerPoint presentation is created as we go. A filing system is used that makes any request for documents by defense a low cost exercise. All of this saves money.
6. SER has assembled information on safety devices that are on the market and designed many alternative designs for defective products. At SER you can get a new saw guard, a new stepladder stabilizer, a one-man ATV seat and a ROPS, roll-over-protection-system, for an ATV to name a few.
